Andy Warhol

La Factory (…) come performance collettiva finita fuori controllo, che si nutre di visioni artistiche e cultura di massa, ambizioni e fragilità, sesso, celebrità, anfetamine e delle vite stesse dei co-protagonisti della scena.Che siano poi dei film a raccontare quelle storie e quel momento ha particolarmente senso, dato che è proprio nel cinema di Warhol (a detta di alcuni l’ambito in cui creò alcuni dei suoi lavori più significativi, molto più che nella scultura, nella pittura o nella grafica) che il demi-monde della Factory diventò protagonista assoluto, dai più minimali Screen Tests (cine-ritratti a camera fissa delle personalità più o meno note che transitavano dal loft argentato) ai film più articolati che seguirono (Chelsea Girls per citare solo il più noto). Più in concreto, diciamo pure che gli autori di questi documentari hanno potuto attingere a un archivio lussureggiante di immagini e filmati d’epoca, gioia di ogni montatore, oltre che di ogni spettatore curioso.
